New PC

Kirst Knight

04 Feb 10

Sarah Manners, best known for playing Bex Reynolds in Casualty as well as taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, has joined The Bill as regular cast member PC Kirsty Knight – Sun Hill’s feisty and ambitious new area car driver.

Sarah says:  “I’m over the moon to be joining The Bill, especially at this exciting time for the show.  Thanks to a friend who is a Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police, I have been lucky enough to spend time shadowing PCs out and about around London as research for my new role.”

She hits the ground running in her debut episode, ‘Crossing The Line’ due to transmit on ITV1 on 18th February 2010, when she’s caught up in the controversy surrounding a violent attack on Sergeant Stone and finds herself suspicious of Stone’s actions.

Series Producer Tim Key said:  “Sarah’s a great actor and we’re delighted that she’s joining the show.  She arrives at a particularly exciting time for the uniform officers of Sun Hill, who are about to be tested to the limit.  Kirsty Knight is a lively addition to the team, with an irreverent sense of humour and a love of the adrenaline-fuelled side of the job.  But she’s going to be flung in at the deep end and will quickly learn that life at Sun Hill is full of surprises, challenges and tough decisions.”

‘The Bill’ on ITV1, 9pm Thursdays
Repeated on ITV3 the following Monday at 11pm
